Forum Popularity Analysis

I’m going to take some time now to explain a HYIP analysis tool that I utilize when I review programs. I call the process a Forum Popularity Analysis. This analysis utilizes a well known site in our industry MMGStat.com. If you have not heard of MMGStat, you may just not have broadened your research of HYIPs to the international level yet. Our industry is comprised of investors from many different countries, each with forums and blogs about HYIPs written in their native tongues. To truly gauge interest in a HYIP program you should be aware that investors are from all around the world, and different cultures may use different indicators and websites to gauge and track the success of a program.

Alexey, the admin of MMGStat gave me permission to use the materials on his site here at HYIPBlogger, and for that I am very appreciative. I feel the statistics generated on his site are essential for investors who desire to gather information about programs before investing (as all investors should).

What the forum popularity analysis does is take a detailed look at the major forums in our industry (a walkthrough article will be written detailing them all in the near future) to help determine how many investors are interested in a given high-yield investment program. You may be asking how this is different from a Traffic Analysis. Both analyses help measure the popularity of a program using visitor traffic as an indicator; however, the forum popularity analysis takes things a step further by counting the number of replies made in the program’s thread on each forum. Replying in a forum thread requires more effort and participation by the investor, giving us a picture of more dedicated traffic.

The first thing I do in my Forum Popularity Analysis is visit MMGStat.com and gather the information I think is most useful. Throughout this article I’ll be using OilStructure as an example:

mmgstats

Now, the above graphs show a lot of information, but it’s all pretty straight-forward. The first section shows two numbers in parenthesis, for example: (+80/+430); the first number is the number of replies in the forum thread and the second is the number of thread views. This number is the past day’s information. This information is then graphed out in two separate graphs seen above. This gives us a picture of how many replies and views the program is receiving each day. This also shows us a trend that we can monitor. If a program suddenly begins to lose popularity in the forums, or if it has little to no forum activity, it could be considered a red flag and as an investor, you may decide not to invest into the program.

Being ever vigilant, my Forum Popularity Analysis does not end after visiting MMGStat. After visiting MMGStat, I take a look at each of the forum threads individually to verify the information:

threads

You may have noticed in addition to the four forums listed by MMGStat, I included Carigold, a Malaysian forum, while not as large as the other four, I find Carigold hits a different demographic of investors, making it a worthwhile forum to follow.

The numbers vary slightly due to the fact that MMGStat updates every 6 hours and the forum information is instantaneous. When comparing with the total views in the second section of information above, we confirm the information taken from MMGStat is correct. At this time I also take the time to check out each of the forum threads to make sure that the replies aren’t the same person posting over and over again. I’ll be honest, I didn’t take the time to sift through the hundreds of OilStructure threads, but I did do a spot-check, and viewed a 4 or 5 different thread pages on each forum. It is particularly important to check the threads to make sure that it is not the same few board members posting time and time again. It’s our desire to gauge investor participation, not count the number of times the same person posted on a forum board.

One thing to note is that it is common to monitors post daily, and if you want to get an estimate on the number of posts from non-monitors, you can go back several days to see which monitors post regularly and remove that number from the daily statistic taken from the MMGStat information, but I find that to be futile. The sheer number of monitors makes it impossible to know which ones are actually investing in the program with their own funds or if they are being paid to monitor the program.

The Forum Popularity Analysis is a tool that when used with the Traffic Analysis can give a good picture of the popularity and traffic a program is receiving. Knowing the amount of traffic a high-yield investment program is receiving is vital information when determining the health of a program. While it’s impossible to forecast when a program will end, by watching traffic and forum trends it is possible to determine if a program is losing popularity. When a program loses popularity, if cash flow problems begin, most programs will close. Of course, if a program is a Timed Scam, the program can close without notice at any time, something that cannot be determined by any amount of program research or analysis. While this tool will not be able to determine if a HYIP is a good investment, or tell you when a program is going to close (though it can provide indicators that could forecast a closure), it is useful when researching HYIP programs to help determine if a program has gained popularity. I believe any bit of knowledge we can get is useful when working with and researching HYIP programs. It’s my goal to provide you with the knowledge you need if you are considering investment into HYIPs. I hope you learned from this walkthrough, until next time, keep on walking through the world of HYIP investment!

Interesting tool. But as stated in the article:

“One thing to note is that it is common to monitors post daily,” and if you want to get an estimate on the number of posts from non-monitors, you can go back several days to see which monitors post regularly and remove that number from the daily statistic taken from the MMGStat information, but I find that to be futile. The sheer number of monitors makes it impossible to know which ones are actually investing in the program with their own funds or if they are being paid to monitor the program.”

This is the problem with this tool and some forums. Monitors. They post daily with out using their own funds. So how can you trust them. Page after page, page, page on and on. This has ruined a good forum. Monitor posting has driven away the average investor from posting in this forum.

I4usInc, good points, monitor’s daily postings may in cases drive normal investors away from posting their own payments; however, they do also give investors a quick and easy way to check to see if a program is paying. A feature of the MMGStat tool that I believe you might have overlooked is the daily page views.

If you think the post count is unreliable and skewed due to monitors, you should look at page views. The page view count reflects the all investors, even the silent ones. Monitor admins aren’t sticking around the forums viewing pages. They post their payment and move along.

I do want to remind everyone that this is just another tool to use to help determine if a program is worth investing money into. Alone this information may not mean much, but with all of the knowledge obtained through the rest of your research, it just might help you come to a decision on if you wish to invest in a program.
